1925 Packard 2-36 Sport Model

Very rare, low slung and sporty Packard
Sold

1926 Packard 2-36 Sport Model.  This is an extremely rare Packard with only a few examples remaining. The Sport Model, style number 246 by Pullman, is a four-passenger open touring car style coachwork with all four doors hinged at the front, the standard Packard five-passenger touring body hinged the rear doors at the back, The Sport Model was distinguished by a much lower radiator, hood and cowl that joined a narrow tonneau uniquely complementing the long hood. The end result is a very low slung and sporty Packard.

This Packard, body #246-649, vehicle #211074, and chassis #210975 (under which its titled) has an older restoration performed by Hibernia Restorations in 1980.  Clearly a body off frame restoration, it still shows quite well cosmetically, as the pictures should show.

Under the hood is engine #211130, which is correct and runs smooth, however the next caretaker should plan for a full mechanical service, as its not be used regularly for some time and I noticed some lack of power while driving.  Currently running a on an electric fuel pump, although the vacuum tank is present and intact.  The car drove nicely, steered and braked well.

The interior and top are also of the same vintage of the restoration.  Noticed when the top was down, one of the irons and bows could use some attention.  There are side curtains, but strangely only for one side.
